Crushers with vibrating jaws.-A machine for crushing ores, stone, rock, &c. comprises a threesided frame with a pivoted jaw mounted therein and forming the fourth side, a shaft with eccentrics thereon mounted outside the frame in front of the fixed jaw, one or more beams suspended outside the frame parallel with the shaft and connected with the movable jaw, and toggle mechanism connected with the beam or beams and operated by the eccentrics. As shown, Figs. 1 and 2, the movable jaw 15 is carried bv a shaft 17 mounted in bearings 18 in the two side-members 11, 12. A beam 25 disposed on the outer side of the front member 13 of the frame and parallel with the driving-shaft 19 is suspended from the upper part of the member 13 by toggle mechanisms 26 operated by eccentrics 23 on the shaft 19. A plate 27 is seated at its ends in bearings 28, 29 in the member 13 and beam 25 respectively. Rods 30 at or near the ends of the beam connect the beam to lugs 38 on the jaw 15, the rods passing through holes in the beam and lugs. Each rod 30 is secured in the beam by a nut 31 engaging in a recess in the beam and locked by means of a bar 33 which is secured at its ends to the beam and engages slots in the nut. The end of the rod that co-operates with a lug 38 is spherical and engages a corresponding seating, a cap or cover 35 retaining the end of the rod in place. In a modification, Fig. 3, two beams 25a 25b are used, the beam 25a being suspended from the upper part of the member 13 through adjustable springs 37 and the beam 25b from the beam 25<a> through toggle mechanisms 26. The beams have pivotal connections with the frame through plates 27a, 27b.
