[Class 59] One jaw of a rock crusher moves in an orbital path while remaining parallel to itself,'the other, preferably operated from the first, moves synchronously in a straight line path in the direction of its length. As shown, one jaw 20 is operated by 'an eccentric 18 and is provided at each side with a triangular yoke 40 suspended at their outer ends by a flexible link 72 which is suspended by springs 70 that give when uncrushable material is present between the jaws. The other jaw 30 is supported by a link 120 against pivotal plates 112 and is connected by a link 96 with a cross-piece 80 between the yokes. By these means the jaw partakes of the up-and-down movement of the jaw 20, the plates 112, the edges of which are rounded, ensuring an approximate straight line movement in the direction of the length of the jaw. The links 120, 96 are anchored at their ends by compressible connections, and the distance between the jaws may be adjusted by shims 130 between lower plate support and an angle bracket 132. In other forms, the yokes extend upwards, or to the same side of the jaw 20 as the eccentric ; both jaws may be furnished with such yokes and the jaws may be made in sections between which sieves are arranged.
