In a jaw crusher in which a movable jaw 11 is rockably supported by a toggle plate 22, the toggle plate is rockably supported by an adjustably-mounted toggle beam 23 which extends across the crusher housing 8 and has its ends projecting through slots 24 in the housing side walls 9, the ends of the beam being connected to the piston rods 43 of hydraulic cylinders 38, and the beam being adjustable by means of removable U-shaped shims 37 and locked in the adjusted position by means of screws 48, 49. A tension rod 28 is supported between the jaw 11 and the beam 23.
