1354094 Jaw crushers FREDERICK PARKER Ltd 30 April 1971 [28 April 1970] 20305/70 Heading B2A The movable jaw 4 of a jaw crusher is reciprocated by an eccentric 6 and a jaw stock 5 which is mounted on a stationary part, e.g. the fixed base, of the crusher via a resilient support 9. This reduces wear on toggle plate and enables the height of the crusher to be reduced. The fixed jaw 2 is adjustable by a known mounting arrangment 3. In one embodiment the support 9 comprises a circular opening 10, Fig. 1, in the jaw stock in which is fitted an annular resilient bush 11. A pin 12 is received in the bush and is carried by a similar coaxial bush 13, Fig. 2, which is in turn closely fitted in a housing 14 carried by the fixed structure 1 of the crusher. A second embodiment includes a deformable toggle-like member 16, Fig. 3, received in a slot 15 in the jaw stock 5 and a support mounting 17, fixed to the crusher frame. A third embodiment includes a jaw stock 5 having a rectangular aperture 18, Fig. .4, to receive the resilient support 9. This comprises a plate 19 secured at its ends to the frame 1 by bolts 20. A similar plate 21 parallel to plate 19 is bolted to the jaw stock 5 and is connected to plate 19 by resilient mounting units 22 arranged across the width of the plate in groups of three. An additional set of similar units 23 is provided to damp the movement of the jaw stock and is secured between the plate 21 and the frame 1. The units 22, 23 each comprise layers of e.g. rubber bonded to intervening metal plates, there being two rubber and three metal layers bonded end-toend to a further similar sandwich construction, as shown in Fig. 4.
