A centring plate 1 for supporting the lower die of a trimming press comprises an arching bar 3 fixed to the plate at two points and adjustable on the inclined surface 2. Screws and plugs 4, 5 fix the ends of the bar to plate 1, and screws 6 along the length of the bar deflect it on surface 2. Slots 11 (Fig. 2, not shown), in the edges of the bar facilitate its deflection. The screws 6 are held against endwise movement in the lip 7 of plate 1 by bolts 10.
