Abstract

1,223,735. Gyratory crushers. ALLIS-CHALMERS MFG. CO. 7 Oct., 1968 [12 Oct., 1967], No. 47414/68. Heading B2A. To accommodate initial overload caused by tramp material, a gyratory crusher head 58, Fig. 1, is supported relative to a bowl 30 by an elastomeric e.g. rubber pad 56 between the head and its support. The support comprises a post 34 with a head 36 and a bronze bearing plate 54 to which the pad 56 is secured e.g. by vulcanizing and which has radial slots 55 to permit lubrication via a tube 48. Other embodiments omit the plate 54 and may comprise a conical or spherical upper-surfaced elastomeric pad mounted directly on a head portion 90 of a crusher post 88, Fig. 2. The crusher includes a known hydraulic overloadprotection system.
