Abstract

1357709 Gyratory crushers BARBER-GREENE CO 20 Dec 1972 [27 Dec 1971] 58972/72 Heading B2A A gyratory crusher has the concave 22 mounted on an upper frame 20 above the main frame 1 which supports the crusher head 4. A compression spring system S resiliently biasses the upper frame 20 downwardly on the main frame 1. A spring retaining ring 40 is located around the main frame 1. Threaded bolts 41 extend through the ring 40, the main and upper frame 1, 20. A first nut 45 on each bolt comprises the springs 48 of the system S between the main frame and lower spring retaining ring. A second nut 55 on each bolt is adjusted to one position where it compresses the springs 48 and permits the upper frame to be removed, e.g. for service to the concave. When the second nut is adjusted to a second position the springs are permitted to bias the assembly through the bolts, the first nuts and the ring downwardly on the main frame.
