Crushers with gyratory heads.-In a gyratory crusher in which the cone is mounted on a spherical bearing surface, a plurality of annular wiping or sealing connections are provided around the spherical bearing surface to prevent ingress of dirt &c. The cone D<2> is supported in a spherical bearing C<4>, and is mounted on a shaft D which is gyrated by an eccentric bush B<5> driven by bevel wheels B<6>, B'. The bush housing B is flared out at the upper end to enclose the bevel wheel B<c> and support the fixed part C of the spherical bearing. The sealing means comprise an annular member E which is bolted to the gyratory cone and is provided with spherical bearing surfaces E<4>, E<5>, which engage with corresponding surfaces G<5>, G<6> on an annular member G slidable vertically on a cylindrical portion of the fixed part C, under the influence of springs H. The member G may be prevented from rotating on the member C by means of a key. Specification 293,642 is referred to.
