Abstract

1,104,439. Gyratory crushers. NORDBERG MANUFACTURING CO. 22 Nov., 1966 [10 Feb., 1966], No. 52311/66. Heading B2A. A gyratory crusher has means for rotating the bowl relative to the frame and means for locking the bowl in a desired position, and for unlocking it for rotation, wherein the rotating and unlocking means are incorporated in a fluid-actuated system which includes a control means so that the rotating means cannot be actuated unless the unlocking means have been previously actuated to unlock the bowl. As described, rotation is effected by hydraulic rams 72, Fig. 4, pawls and a known toothed skirt and locking by clamping units 56. In operation, fluid pressure builds up to compress springs of the clamping units 56, and then opens a pressure sequence valve 94 to retract the ram pistons 110 and rotate the bowl. With a valve 98 in an opposite position, the rams extend. No pressure is applied to the rams until the pressure exceeds the level where the springs of units 56 are compressed because of operation of the valve 94. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 966,185.
