Abstract

1,165,224. Gyratory crushers. NORDBERGMFG. CO. 24 Oct., 1966 [19 Nov., 1965], No 47650/66. Addition to 988,852. Heading B2A. A gyratory crusher comprises a rotatable crushing bowl adjusted by one or more fluidoperated i.e. hydraulic or pneumatic ram assemblies each comprising two rams 44, 44a, Fig. 2 operable in opposing senses of bowl rotation. Each ram is spring. biassed with contact with a toothed ring 48 associated with the bowl. Contact between ring and bowl is prevented by a stop or lock when the ram is fully retracted. A fluid pressure means selects operation of one ram in the assembly, or corresponding rams in each assembly to rotate the bowl in the required direction whilst rendering the other ram or rams inoperative. As described, the bowl is threaded in an adjustment ring 14, and the toothed ring 48 is mounted on a rotary bowl cap 30, Fig. 1, mounted on the ring 14. The rams 44, 44a have driving webs 50 which drivingly engage teeth 52 on the ring 48. A locking arrangement 64 is disengaged by operation of a selected ram or rams.
