409,394. Weight on vehicle wheels. AVERY, Ltd., W. & T., and SYKES, C. M., Soho Foundry, Birmingham. Nov. 3, 1932, No. 30947. Addition to 373,420. [Class 143.] The wheel is supported by two oppositelydisposed members 5, 6 rockably mounted by pivots 3<a> on a member 3 which transmits the load to the weighing-mechanism, the members 5, 6 being provided with side flanges which shroud the weighing-mechanism and thus protect it from any overhanging portion of the wheel tyre. One or both of the members 5, 6 may act as a ramp, the end then resting on the ground as the wheel runs on or off. In a modification, the ramps may be separate from the rockable members and rest on the ground. Specification 342,484 is referred to.
