Abstract

408,966. Carburetters. GREENWOOD, C. E., Leathley, Coalway Road, Wolverhampton, and IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd., Millbank, London. Oct. 18, 1932, No. 29111. [Class 7 (iii).] An expansion chamber 1 is arranged between an intake pipe 2, adapted to be attached to the air intake of a carburetter, and a co-axial pipe 4 of substantially the same diameter, the chamber being of considerably greater diameter than the pipes ; the air enters the chamber through the co-axial pipe and has an uninterrupted passage through the chamber and intake pipe. The co-axial pipe 4 is fitted with a cover 5 having air inlet holes 6 around its periphery and may have a regulating device for controlling the air supply.
