Abstract
617,721. Exhaust silencers. WYNN, E. Oct. 24, 1946, No. 31554. [Class 7 (ii)] The branch pipes L, M, N lead from the exhaust pipe K through a cooling chamber H to a mixing chamber J, separated by a partition G, the gas being discharged by an outlet D. The front of the casing is closed by a cupshaped member having holes O for cooling air. which passes out through holes P in the partition G, or in and out through holes in the casing which may have cooling fins. The outer ends of the pipes L, M, N may be tapered or perforated and the chamber J may be lined with asbestos.
