Abstract
408,839. Roll-film spools. KODAK Ltd., Kingsway, London.-(Assignees of Wittel, O. ; 343, State Street, Rochester, New York, U.S.A.) June 30, 1933, No. 18613. Convention date, July 13, 1932. [Class 98 (i).] A metal spool comprises a core, which may be formed from a flat plate, Fig. 1, consisting of cylindrical bent-over portions D, D<1>, Fig. 2, extending from opposite sides of a central portion C. Longitudinal slots D<2>, D<3> are provided between the free edges of the parts D, D and the central portion C, across which extend lugs B<1>, B<2> adapted to engage slots in the end of the film. Flanges E are slotted at E<1> to pass over flared tongues A on the ends of the portion C and are secured by pressed-in sleeves F which also form trunnions. One sleeve is formed with a driving pinion F<2>. For stiffened films of the kind described in Specification 408,838 the slots D<2>, D<3> are made equal to the width of a stiffening member and resilient flanges of the kind described in that Specification may also be employed.
