Abstract
503,557. Photographic roll films. KODAK, Ltd. Oct. 26, 1937, No. 29253. Convention date, Oct. 26, 1936. [Class 98 (i)] In a film for a cassette, a leader strip 5 of lightproof material has projections 6 which detachably engage perforations in the non-backed film 3 and, when rolled on the spool 1, the outer convolution of the strip is detachably connected to the preceding convolution so that the strip serves as a detachable light-proof covering and as a means for unwinding the film for attachment to a take-up spool. As shown in Fig. 1, the end 9 of the leader strip is attached by a strip 10 to the preceding convolution, or an adhesive may be provided on the strip. A transverse adhesive strip 8 holds the film and strip together, and after inserting the spool into a cassette the strip is pulled and detached from the film. Specification 469,653 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states also that the strip 8 may have projections engaging the film in addition to or instead of those on the leader strip, or the projections may be omitted and film and strip held together only by the strip 8. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
