Cameras, roll-film; roll spools. - The feed and take-up spools b, h of the film are connected by an endless band e carrying numerals which indicate the degree of winding necessary to advance a fresh portion of film into the exposure aperture f. The winding- handle o, which carries the driving-sprocket m of the band e, may be disengaged from the takeup spool h, and angularly adjusted relatively thereto so that, when the film is in position for the first exposure, the band e may be set with the numeral 1 opposite an observation window in the camera. The band e is graduated so as to allow for the increasing diameter of film on the take-up spool, and the camera is provided with a spring catch which engages and holds the band in the correct position corresponding to each numeral. The film, which is unbacked, has a light-protecting strip at each end, and a mark, visible from the outside, is placed at the point of connection of the film with the protecting- strip, to facilitate the initial setting of the film. and band. A length of unperforated kinematograph film may be used.
