Abstract
Substances for use as ointments are obtained by dissolving lithium hydroxide by boiling with an unsaturated fatty acid, e.g. from olive oil, and an essential oil of the terpene series, such as pinewood oil (oleumpini silvestris), in the presence of alcohol, until a neutral reaction is obtained. Compounds are stated to be formed of the composition R1.R2.CooLi, R1 representing a terpenaryl and R2 an alkyl group.ALSO:Substances for use as ointments are produced by dissolving lithium hydroxide by boiling with an unsaturated fatty acid, e.g. from olive oil and an essential oil of the terpene series, such as pinewood oil (oleum pini silvestris), in the presence of alcohol, until a neutral reaction is obtained. Compounds are stated to be formed of the composition R1.R2.COOLi, R1 representing a terpenaryl and R2 an alkyl group. Derivatives of aryl alkyl acids, e.g. salicylic acid may be added to the composition.
