Abstract

407,236. Discharge devices. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET, Võsteras, Sweden. July 11, 1933, No. 19657. Convention date, July 11, 1932. [Class 39 (i).] In a discharge device having a metal vessel and a control grid located in front of the anode, the grid connecting wire is located within a hole in the anode insulator. A platinum wire 5, Fig. 1, for connection to a grid 6 is fused into the insulator 2 or its glazing or is sealed therein by means of a cement which may be covered by lacquer, pitch or packing. A mercury packing 10 may be provided. In a modification, the wire is sealed by asbestos packing 7, Fig. 2, which is compressed by means of the flange 8 and the spring 9. The top of the mercury seal is visible through a glass tube 11. An insulator 21 supports an anode sleeve 3. The insulator 20 may be provided with a number of concentric projections each traversed by a grid wire. In a further modification, the insulators for the anode and for the anode sleeve are arranged as shown in Fig. 3.
