Abstract

406,931. Controlling delivery of thread and the like from bobbins. HORN, G., (trading as HORN MASCHINENFABRIK, G.), 125, Langhansstrasse, Weissensee, Berlin. Aug. 31, 1933, No. 24190. Convention date, Sept. 9, 1932. [Class 120 (ii).] In means for regulating the delivery of thread, wire &c. from a supply bobbin d, the thread is first led around the longer arm of a brake lever f and then over a thread tension lever g, which may have an exchangeable or adjustable spring, so that on exerting a pull on the thread &c., first of all the brake lever f is moved in such a way as to effect braking of the bobbin, e.g. by a brake disc c, until the thread tension lever yields to the pulling force in the thread to such a degree that in consequence of the altered path of the thread the pulling force of the thread on the brake lever f is reduced to such an extent that the bobbin d rotates more freely and increases delivery. The brake shoe shown may be replaced by a band brake &c., and the brake and tension levers may be carried by separate pivots e.
