Abstract
406,477. Loading aircraft. FAIREY AVIATION CO., Ltd., Cranford Lane, Hayes, and WILLIAMS, D. L. H., Hillside, Swakeley's Road, Ickenham, both in Middlesex. Feb. 27, 1933, No. 5959. [Class 4.] For loading bombs &c. on to aircraft, a ladder 11 with winch 12 is rested against a wing or other part in which the bomb cell is situated, and the winch cable is led over a pulley 14 on the ladder and over a pulley 15 mounted on a detachable frame 17 above the cell. The bomb is connected to its rack 23 which is secured to a steadying frame 22 having projections 25 which are pressed against rubber stops 26 by the tension of the cable until a retaining pin 27 is inserted. Two radius rods 21 pivoted to the frame 22 and to the sides of the cell guide the bomb into and out of the cell. The lower opening of the cell has trap doors 20 held open during loading or unloading of the bombs.
