Abstract
405,561. Cooling cylinders. SIEMENS & HALSKE AKT.-GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. Aug. 10, 1933, No. 22410. Convention date, Sept. 23, 1932. [Class 7 (ii).] The suction pipe 4 of a cooling-air fan 3 is pivoted at 11 to the outer shell of an aircraft or motor vehicle, so that it acts as an inlet valve for cooling air from the air stream. The pressure of the air flowing through the pipe acts, through tubes 5, 6, on a spring-pressed plunger 8 which is connected by linkage 10, 10<1>, and tends to close the valve as the pressure increases. A hand control lever 15, and, automatic control by a thermal rod 13 or a bi-metallic strip, are provided.
