Abstract

405,129. Fuel - - injection pump for internal combustion engines. BISCHOF, B., 16, Tobelstrasse, Winterthur, Switzerland. March 8, 1933, No. 7015. Convention date, March 10, 1932. [Class 102 (i).] A fuel-injection pump for a multiple-cylinder internal - combustion engine is arranged with all the pump bodies mounted in a plate of hard material which forms a base for them, which is in turn fixed to the engine casing. The pump bodies are preferably formed with a conical section adapted to fit into conical openings in the base plate. A base plate b is attached to the engine casing a by means such as screws provided for ready detachability, the base plate being made, for example, of steel. The pump body c has a flange e which abuts upon the underside of the plate b, the conical part f being held firmly by the lower flange g of the screwed cap d. The pump body has a delivery passage h and suction passage i which are in alignment with passages t and s in the base plate. The passage i is connected also with the upper chamber d which contains a valve controlled by a counter-plunger k adapted to be lifted by the main plunger l and thus determine the cut off point of delivery.
