Abstract

404,800. Scaffold clamps. AMOR, G. W., Ben Trovato, Highdaun Drive, Pollard's Hill South, Norbury, London. Dec. 13, 1932, No. 35357. [Class 20 (ii).] A modification of the scaffold clamp described in Specification 345,532, comprises a clamping member rotatably adjustable on or with a bolt irremovably mounted in one of the clamping members so that it can be brought into and out of clamping position in respect of a lug on the other clamping member. In one form, a bolt 3 is carried by a clamping element 9 and screwed into and out of the clamping member 5, and carries a rotatably adjustable clamping element 7 with lip 8 adapted to engage the lug 10 on the clamping member 9, the bolt screwing into the member 5 to effect clamping. In a modification, the clamping element 8 is wedge-shaped and engages a correspondingly wedged surface 14 on the lug 10 of the clamping member to effect clamping when the plain bolt 3 carrying the clamping element is rotated. The bolt may be provided with an apertured sleeve or head whereby it can be rotated.
