Abstract

1,009,136. Clamps. MARTIN HOIST & ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. Jan. 3, 1964 [Jan. 18 1963], No. 2388/63. Heading E2B. A clamping device comprises a base member 10 in the form of a length of angle iron, a spigot 11 on one limb of the base member providing an attachment position for a swivel or other coupling device, and adjustable hook elements 14, 15 associated one with each limb of said base member and adapted when the base member is applied to a frame member of angle section to be engaged over edge portions of the limbs of said frame member, the arrangement being such that with the base member positioned on the frame member the hook elements may be adjusted to exert a clamping action on said frame member in two directions at right angles to each other thereby securely to hold the base member in place. As shown the hook elements pass through apertures in plates 12, 13 on the limbs of the member 10 and are adjusted by nuts 16, 17.
