Abstract

401,232. Free-wheel clutches. FIAT SOC. ANON., 250, Via Nizza, Turin, Italy. June 21, 1933, No. 17699. Convention date, Dec. 31, 1932. [Class 80 (ii).] In a free-wheel clutch comprising rollers 12 engaging between a cylindrical outer driven ring 9 and cam surfaces 11 on an inner driving member 3, the rollers being urged into clutching position by spring- loaded members 15, each of the latter members has an arcuate outer surface slidable in the ring 9 and a frontal surface which fits the roller only at the part adjacent the surface 11, the part of the frontal surface adjacent to the ring 9 being spaced from the roller. The ring 9 is secured between an annular disc 8 and a disc 5 integral with a sleeve 6 secured to the driven shaft 2 by means of bolts 10 which pass freely through holes in the ring.
