Abstract
400,925. Motor vehicles. TATRAWERKE AUTOMOBIL-UND WAGGONBAU AKT.-GES., Smichov, Prague. April 21, 1932, No. 11483. Convention date, Oct. 26, 1931. [Classes 79 (iii), 79 (iv), and 79 (v).] Vehicles having a central, longitudinal, preferably tubular frame fitted with swinging half axles, are provided with members carrying bearings for the half axles, fixings for the springs and supports for the steering gear and controls, the members being adapted to be secured to and removed from the central frame together with the bearing springs and other associated parts. The half axles d carrying the wheels e are pivoted at c to a member h adapted to be clamped to the central tubular frame a. The centre of the transverse spring g is also secured to the member h. In the construction shown in Fig. 4, the half axles 21 are pivoted and the spring 22 is fixed to a tubular member 23 secured on the frame tube 5. A similar member 231, preferably in one with the member 23, supports the steering handwheel 24, the steering gear 25 and the controls 26. The driver's seat may also be carried in the same way. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a construction in which the members carrying the separate arms of the half axles and the springs are independent ; another construction in which a tubular member to which the various parts are secured is provided with flanges and forms part of a built up central main frame ; and an arrangement in which an overhung engine is secured to the rear end of the central tubular frame of a six wheeled vehicle. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
