Abstract

365,623. Vehicle bodies. MARTIN, J. V., Garden City, Long Island, New York, U.S.A. Oct. 16, 1930, No. 31011. [Classes 108 (i) and 108 (ii).] A three-wheeled motor vehicle having two front steering wheels 3, 31 and a single rear wheel 2 is constructed with a closed streamlined passenger-carrying body enshrouding all the wheels ; the doors 11 being arranged in the front. A seat 8 for two passengers is arranged forwardly between the steering wheels and the power unit 17 is placed at the rear of the seat, the passenger and power-unit compartments being separated by an airtight partition. The body is completely encircled by a guard or cushioning strip 12 adjacent its lower margin. A smooth closure 7 is provided on the under side of the body and the steering and other controls may be arranged between the closure 7 and the floor 5<1>. The rear wheel 2 supports the body through springs 26 and is carried by a fork-like frame 24 connected by horizontal pivots 25 to the body.
