Abstract
400,865. Toothed gearing. NAKAJIMA AIRCRAFT CO., Ltd., 747, Oaza-Ota, Ota-cho, Nitta, Gunma, Japan. May 4, 1933, No. 13018. Convention date, May 14, 1932. [Class 80 (i).] Relates to a speedreduction gear for aircraft in which bevel wheels 3, 8 on the driving- shaft 1 and driven shaft 7 respectively are geared together through pinions 6 mounted on a fixed annular carrier 4. According to the invention the carrier 4 is capable of slight radial and axial movement and is held all round its periphery against rotation. In the form shown this is accomplished by fastening the carrier 4 to a conical extension 9 splined with play in a ring 13 clamped between the gear casing 11 and the bearing-plate 12 for the driving-shaft. The extension 9 has openings 10 through which the gears 6 project to engage the bevel wheel 3.
