[Classes 27 and 116.] Coin action, with stationary coin forming abutment, coin-slit closing-devices.-Coin-exchanging mechanism as in the parent Specification is modified so that operation of the lever j<1> which withdraws the bolt i locking the drawer d moves a member to prevent the insertion of major coins at f<1> until the drawer is closed. As shown a weighted lever m pivoted at m<1> is normally in the position shown in chain-lines with the weighted end resting on the lever j. When the lever j is operated to withdraw the bolt, the lever m is turned to the position shown in broken lines and obstructs the slot f<1>. A feeler lever n pivoted at n<1> is weighted at n<2> and normally projects with the receptacles a for minor coins as shown with its upper end engaging a slot m<2> in the lever m so that the coin slot f<1> is obstructed unless there are sufficient minor coins in the receptacle e to displace the lower end of the lever n. Further, the apparatus of the parent Specification, with or without these modifications, may be constructed with the front plate a, the guide c for the drawer, the receptacle e for minor coins, the guides h<1>, h<2> for the bolt, and the guide f for the major coins in one piece, preferably a die casting. A plate l secured to the side of the drawer is provided with a notch or notches l<3>, l<4> for the bolt, a part l<5> to hold the bolt up while the drawer is open, and an arm l<2> which holds the pivoted plate g in raised position beneath the guide f to support the major coin until the drawer has been opened, and which limits the opening of the drawer. The spring k which shoots the bolt i is connected with the lever j, so as to return it to the initial position after operation.
