Delavery of articles stored in piles; coin action, mechanical-connection. - In a drawer releasing mechanism the coin inserted in the slot e falls down the coin race g into the coin holder o and rests on the upturned end q<1> of the lever q dependent from the drawer a. The initial opening movement of the latter causes the coin x to ride up the incline q<4> so that its upper edge engages the flange o<6> of the coin holder and tilts the pivoted lever o<1> to pull down the latch p, normally projecting in the path of teeth a<1> on the drawer. and allow the drawer to be fully opened. The cranked tail v<1>, of the pivoted lever v, normally engaging the recess v<2> in the coin race obstructs the entrance to the coin holder when a coin is in the latter. Testing coins.-The adjustably pivoted lever l, supported at its free end by the ledge m, prevents light coins passing into the coin holder o. Small coins fall sideways through the apertured front of the coin race g, large coin are retained either under the weighted movable plate h of the coin race or by the lever l and iron discs are held by magnets t. On the initial movement of the drawer a levers i, i<1>, connected to the plate h are actuated by cams on the underside of the drawer so as to move across the coin race and clear it. In a modification the levers are actuated by the coin, on being inserted in the slot e, displacing a slidable arm connected to said levers.
