Coin-action, mechanical - connection and multiple - coin. - Mechanism applicable to coin-freed apparatus in general comprises a slider C having therein a recess for a coin and having pivoted thereon a lever D with an arm d, adapted to encounter a stop G if the slider is pushed inwards without previous insertion of a coin, the lever also having another arm b which, when the slider is in the position in which it is normally held by a spring &c. bears against an abutment, not shown and holds up the arm d out of alignment with the stop G. When a coin is inserted,. it falls into the recess in the slider C, where it is stopped by a projection g or the arm b. On pushing inwards the slider, to operate the machine, the lever D is then prevented by the coin from turning about its pivot E, and the arm d therefore clears the stop G. When a third arm a on the lever engages an abutment F, the lever is caused to turn so that the arm b moves forwardly and allows the coin to drop. To necessitate the insertion of more than one coin before the machine can be opened, several mechanisms of the kind described may be provided, with a separate coin slot for each; or there may be a common slot and suitable, coin-deflecting devices.
