Abstract

399,626. Globe-holders. EVERED & CO., Ltd., Smethwick, Staffordshire, and HOWIE, W. A., 19, The Avenue, Gravesend, Kent. July 12, 1932, No. 19635. [Class 75 (ii).] An inverted incandescent-gas burner has in combination therewith a dual attachment means admitting of the attachment thereto of a globe of the bayonet-joint type and of the grooved or channelled rim type. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the reflector 4 carries three brackets 5, formed with channel-shaped parts 5a for the reception of the lugs on a globe of the bayonetjoint type, and carrying set-screws 6 to support a globe of the other type. The brackets 5 are made from a flat piece of metal. When the reflector is of porcelain, the brackets are secured to the ends of a spider. In a modification, shown in Fig. 3, a ring 8 of L-shaped cross section is carried by the brackets 5, and is provided with gaps 8b for the passage of lugs on a globe, stops 8c being provided. When a bayonet-joint type of lamp is used, the screws 6 may support a silk or other lamp-shade.
