Abstract

220,832. Baigent, E. M. Sept. 27, 1923. Chimney, globe, and shade holders; securing chimneys and globes to holders.-A thin sheet metal frame for a lampshade-, more particularly adapted for use with triple inverted incandescent gas burners, is provided with a flange 4 to which a bead or fabric shade is attached, a flange 7 to be engaged by screws in the usual gallery on the burner, and an inner annulus 1 to which is secured a fire proof protector not materially less in diameter at its upper portion than one for which the gallery was originally designed. In the form shown in Fig. 2 a cylindrical protector 12 is made up from a. number of panes of talc secured together by a metal reinforcement 13 having bayonet slots 14 for engaging with L- shaped lugs 11 depending from the inner annulus 1, whilst in the form shown in Fig. 3 a glass protector 17 is provided with a circumferential groove 16 for engagement with screws 15.
