Abstract
11,543. Grimsdell, E. W. May 27. Incandescent gas burners; globe and shade holders.-A gallery or globe-and-mantle carrier for use with inverted incandescent gas burners is made in two parts as follows. Anupper circular member a, which has slots b adapted to engage with studs or screws on the inside of the usual metal crown fitted over the burner, is provided with tongues d adapted to fitover the flanged rim e of the globe and thereby support it. A lower ring member f, which is adapted to carry the mantle, is provided with vertical arms g the upper ends of which are bent outwards so as to rest on the flanged rim of the globe. The mantle-carrying flange of the member g may be continuous or consist of spaced segments. In a modification, which is particularly adapted for use with reflectors and conical or other shades supported by the metal crown, the members a,f are fastened together, the member a having an inturned flange at its base and small tongues stamped out and bent over recesses in the outwardly-bent portions of the arms g.
