Abstract
398,440. Cleaning beer pipes. BURKETT, F. and TAYLOR, E., 2365, Van Alst Avenue, Asyoria, New York, U.S.A. March 29, 1933, No. 9508. [Class 99 (ii).] Beer pipes 18 are cleaned by the passage therethrough of a solution of sodium carbonate &c. from a mixing chamber 25 having a water supply inlet 27 projecting through the bottom thereof and a .solution outlet 23 located at the top, a perforated cylinder 40a containing the cleaning chemical in solid form being removably mounted within the chamber 25 on a disc 46 carried by the said inlet 27. Either hot or cold water or both is supplied to the pipe 27 by pipes 30, 31 controlled by valves 32, 33, respectively, and a water byepass 29 across the inlet and outlet of the mixing chamber, controlled by a valve 29<1>, is provided to enable fresh water to be passed through the pipes 18 after the cleaning solution. The chamber 25 and cylinder 40a are both fitted with removable caps 34, 42.
