Abstract

397,990. Road vehicles. LAWRENCE, J. S. G. and LLOYDS & CO. LETCHWORTH, Ltd., Pennsylvania Works, Letchworth, Hertfordshire. June 2, 1932, No. 15664. [Class 108 (i).] A vehicle for use in transporting wheeled objects such as ganged grass mowers comprises a wheeled low platform the sides of which can be lowered to form ramps for loading and unloading the mowers by means of a tractor. The platform is supported on longitudinal bearers 2 .. 6 having a pair of coaxial wheels 8 and sides 9, 10 which also form ramps as shown. Tie rods 18, 19 are provided to serve for keeping the sides in position and also to lock them when used as ramps to prevent tilting of the vehicle about its wheel axis. The sides 9, 10 hinge about rods 12 carried by the outer bearers 2, 6. A draw-bar 22 is provided for hitching to a tractor.
