488,830. Steering trailer vehicles. MEILLER, F. X., and MEILLER, J., (trading as MEILLER, F. X., [Firm of]). Dec. 11, 1937, No. 34326. Convention date, Dec. 10, 1936. [Class 79 (v)] A trailer vehicle body a is mounted on turntables d, d<1> on two multi-axled bogies each having a single steerable axle f or f<1> controlled either by a removable draw-bar g or by a perch i or i<1> sliding in a sleeve k pivoted at h on the body a, the pivot h being between the steering axle and the turntable and nearer to the axle than to the turntable axis. The pivots h are preferably adjustable transversely of the central axis of the body a, in order to make the trailer follow a different path to that of the tractor, if desired. The steering-axle f which is connected to the draw-bar g is disconnected from the perch i, but the other steering axle f<1> is locked at l<1> to its perch i<1> so as to remain perpendicular thereto. When the trailer is to be drawn in the reverse direction, the draw-bar g is removed from the axle f and connected to the axle f the axle f being then locked at l to its perch i so as to remain perpendicular thereto.
