Abstract
397,925. Fastening bale-ties. SIGNODE STEEL STRAPPING CO., 2600, North Western Avenue, Chicago, U.S.A. March 4, 1932, No. 6574. Convention date, March 9, 1931. [Class 94 (i).] The overlapping ends 8, 9 of metal straps are secured by folding over the edges 16, 17 together and forming complementary depressions 10 from which interlocking abutments 11 are struck. The abutments may be so deeply indented as to be transversely severed from the strap portion. In a modified form, Fig. 13, lugs 10<1>, 11<1> are struck from the opposite edges of the interfolded ends 8<1>, 9<1> so as to form abutting edges 13<1> for resisting the longitudinal pull.
