Abstract

397,664. Tubes for heat-exchangers. SUPERHEATER CO., Ltd., Bush House, Aldwych, London.-(Brown, R. S. ; 11132, S. Hoyne Avenue, Chicago, U.S.A.) Aug. 4, 1932, No. 21908. [Class 64 (iii).] Cylindrical bore tubes 1 for heat-exchangers are provided with opposed fins 3 running longitudinally of the tubes, and bounded with concave surfaces 4 which blend into convex surfaces 5 to form sinuous passages of constant cross section with adjacent tubes. The fins may be made separate or integral with the tube. Additional gills may be provided transversely to the axes of the tubes.
