Abstract

397,526. Piles. SNOW, F. S. and HAWKINS, P. W., 1, Queen Anne's Gate, London. Feb. 25, 1932, No. 5694. [Class 68 (ii).] An impact-driven concrete or like pile built up of precast units has a bottom unit A provided with a socket into which fits the spigot F of a unit C having at the top a socket of substantially equal dimensions to receive the spigot of the next higher unit. The depth of the sockets is made slightly greater than the length of the spigots so that during driving the impact forces are transmitted by the shoulders E. The units are reinforced by means of bars G and wire lacing H. The spigots are grooved for the reception of cement grout.
