Abstract
395,772. Two-stroke engines. SMALL, H. P., 38, Sunningfields Road, Hendon, London. Jan. 28, 1932, No. 2581. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (vi).] The trunk 12 of the piston 3, working in the annular space 7 between the cylinder wall and the hollow cylinder head 6, is formed with rings of rectangular ports 11, 13 near each end, to co-operate with exhaust passages 5 and transfer ports 4 from the crank case, respectively. Mixture is drawn into the crank-case through a slotted disc pressed against the ported crankcase wall by springs which encircle driving-pins protruding from the crankweb. Heavy oil may be used, the sparking plug 10 being replaced by an oilinjector. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 181,969, 233,025, and 254,896, [all in Class 7 (ii), Internal-combustion engines, Arrangement &c. of].
