Abstract

Concentrated latex, particularly that to be used for heat-deposition processes such as are described in Specifications 284,608, 292,964, 330,520, [all in Class 70, Indiarubber &c.], and 351,012, are stabilized against thickening, or are reduced in viscosity without diluting the disperse phase, by the addition of small quantities of piperidine, diethylamine, dimethylamine, or like strong organic base, preferably in aqueous solution. The dispersion may be concentrated centrifuging or creaming, and may be compounded and/or vulcanized. A suitable quantity is 0,5 per cent by volume of piperidine in an equal weight of water.
