Abstract
394,589. Washing-machines. MADSEN, O. G., Hor³p, near Slangerup, Denmark. Dec. 9, 1932, No. 35027. [Class 138 (ii).] In a washing-machine wherein the washing liquid is circulated by means of air blown in under pressure, air is also blown above the level of the liquid in the form of a jet or jets acting in all directions to destroy foam &c. As shown, the additional air may issue from apertures 6 in the pipe 2 supplying the liquid-circulating air to the perforated ring 4 and in modifications it may issue from axial slots or an annular nozzle arranged at the end of a branch pipe. The additional air may be regulated by a sleeve 7 or by regulating the size of the annular nozzle. A sleeve may be provided on the main supply pipe to cover more or less completely an aperture in the pipe so that a quantity of air may be passed direct to the atmosphere instead of entering the machine.
