Abstract
<PICT:0605679/IV (c)/1> A piece dyeing machine of the kind in which a dye vat is surmounted by a winch for circulating the goods through the dye vat, is characterised in that the vat has a curved side and bottom and perforations only at the lower extremity of the curved side and bottom of the vat, and an inlet aperture only at the upper part of the vat so that all the dye liquor entering the vat must flow downwards from the inlet to the bottom of the vat before it can escape therefrom. In the Figure, a dye vat 1 having above it a winch 2 has one straight and one curved side. At the lower extremity of the curved side are located perforations 3. The straight side has an aperture 4 at its upper end with shutters 17 by means of which the flow of liquid may be regulated. Passage 6 contains steam heating pipes in its lower part and a propeller 9 which serves to draw up liquor and cause it to circulate from the outlets 3 to the inlet 4.
