[Class 79 (v).] In an automatic main clutch for motor vehicles comprising a centrifugal clutch connected to the gear-box by a one-way clutch the driven drum of the centrifugal clutch is automatically braked at idling speed in order to facilitate gear-charging. In one form, brake shoes are automatically applied by a spring, and released by toggle linkage when the accelerator pedal is moved from the idling position.
