Abstract
392,852. Exhaust pipes. BUCHI, A., 20, Salstrasse, Winterthur, Switzerland. Dec. 22, 1932, No. 36365. Convention date, Dec. 23, 1931. [Class 7 (ii).] In a multicylinder engine, particularly one in which the exhaust pipe 4 is lagged and the exhaust gas is used in a waste heat apparatus, the connecting pipes 21 to the individual cylinders are flexible to allow for expansion of the pipe 4, which may be fixed at the centre and mounted on sliding supports at the two ends. The flexibility is provided by bellows 20 which may be lined with a rigid tube fixed at one end. The pipe 4 is subdivided into three parts 4a, 4b, 4c, each connected to different cylinders.
