Abstract
392,701. Safety razors. CAMERON, W. J., 666, West Division Street, Chicago, U.S.A. March 11, 1932, No. 7284. [Class 30.] A safety razor of the usual clamped-blade type has the upper part 12 of its handle made of translucent material so that an electric bulb 27 located in the handle can illuminate the space to be shaved. The handle comprises telescopic tubes 14, 15. The part 12 is cone-shaped and is confined by its bead 17 between a threaded sleeve 19 and a shoulder 16 on the tube 14. A member 10 cemented in the upper end of the part 12 is threaded to receive the middle screwed stud of the clamping- member. The bulb-holder 28 is held against the shoulder 16 by a spring 31, the other abutment of which is provided by an insulating washer 45 resting on the battery 26. The battery is held in place by a bow spring 33. A packing- ring 23 prevents moisture seeping between the tubes. The bulb plug and the battery contact to complete the circuit when the tube 15 is screwed into the tube 14 by means of the thread 20. The tubes 14, 15, the clamping member and the guard member are made of a synthetic or substituted resin, the battery circuit being completed by a flexible conductor connecting the spring 33 and the holder 28.
