392,457. Liquid meters. HURLBRINK, E., 18, Bayernallee. Westend, Berlin. Nov. 15, 1932, No. 32332. Convention date, Dec. 2, 1931. Addition to 391,812. [Class 69 (ii).] The apparatus described in the parent Specification is provided with means for rendering the damping or retarding device ineffective except near the end of a delivery operation. In one form, a cock 111, Fig. 1, in a byepass 110 connecting the spaces on opposite sides of the piston 102, is operatively connected to a cock 112 in the supply pipe 1 ; lost motion is provided so that the cock 112 is closed after the cock 111. Fig. 2 shows another form with the parts in the positions occupied at the start of a delivery operation, a cock in the delivery pipe 134 being closed. Initiation of supply causes pressure increase in the delivery pipe, which acts through a piston 130 to cause a member 126 to disengage a catch 121 from a stop 122. A spring 120 then moves a lever 116 until the catch 121 engages a stop 127 on the member 126. The subsequent fall in pressure caused by opening the delivery pipe cock allows return of the member 126 and the catch 121 engages a stop 123. When the delivery cock is again throttled or temporarily closed, the pressure disengages the catch and allows the spring 120 to close the byepass cock 111.
