Abstract
325,601. Bywater, D. Nov. 22, 1928. Divided on 320,415. Direct liquidpressure apparatus. -Apparatus for delivering measured quantities of oils, spirits, &c. comprises a float &c. l having screw-threaded connection with a spindle p which is adapted to be rotated through bevel gears q, q<1> by a spindle r when the latter is released by the insertion of a coin &c. The movement of the float displaces a volume of a propelling liquid from the chamber b through a pipe c into an outer chamber a containing the oil &c., which is delivered through a valve a<4> and nozzle a<2>. The spindle r has a one-way clutch so that, when it is returned to its initial position, the float remains in the position to which it has been moved. A cam face r<4> on the spindle r permits a slight upward movement of the spindle p and float to prevent drip at the nozzle a<2>. The valve a<4> is opened by an eccentric r<3> on the spindle r and a rod a<5>. The propelling liquid may be omitted, the float then acting directly on the oil &c. Valves of the kind described in Specification 124,055 may be embodied in the apparatus.
