Abstract

391,796. Heating water. HARRIS, C., Tytherleigh House, Roughmoor, Taunton, Somerset. Nov. 3, 1931, No. 30405. [Class 64 (i).] A water heater is provided with an outlet pipe 4 for burnt gases leading to the outside of the building in which the heater is installed, and a surrounding or adjacent pipe 14 which leads air to a passage 9 separated from the flue 1 of the heater by a peat insulating partition such as a water jacket 8, the flue 1 and passage 9 both communicating with the chamber for the burners 6 which is closed to the room containing the water heater. The water to be heated is sprayed from rotating arms 17 on to concentric cylinders 22 which are provided with interposed corrugated sheets. The water is then diverted by a plate 18 into the jacket 8 and finally escapes by a spout 20.
